Technically, no dog is “hypoallergenic” as some people can be allergic to things other than fur. Sheepadoodles have allergy friendly traits, making them suitable for individuals who suffer from mild to moderate pet allergies. If you or someone in your home has severe allergies we do recommend spending time with different types of adult Doodles to monitor your reaction. Head to your local dog park and strike up some conversation with fellow Doodle owners and ask if you can interact with their dog.

Sheepadoodles are generally low-non shedding. We cannot guarantee any dog to be hypoallergenic or non-shedding as each coat can vary although shedding is typically very mild. Generally, you won’t find much hair in your house or on your clothes. Loose/dead hair will come off on your comb when you brush your Sheepadoodle just like with people who have a head full of hair!

Sheepadoodles’ coats may be minimal shedding, but that does not mean low maintenance. The grooming requirements of a Sheepadoodle is going to include frequent brushing and combing (I recommend daily), bathing and blow drying as necessary, and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Your puppy will be introduced to grooming while in our care by receiving nail trims, sponge baths, real baths, and introduction to sanitary trims, face trims, blow drying and combing.  This must be continued at home so your Sheepadoodle is ready for their firt grooming appointment shortly after they have received all of their vaccinations.

Sheepadoodles are a higher energy dog. They are very intelligent, highly trainable, and extremely playful. With the necessary exercise and mental stimulation, at least 1 hour a day, split up throughout the day, they will become your very best friend, cuddle companion and adventure buddy.
